Les Pilotes

Opening new horizons for young people

For many young people, imagining the future also means having access to the right opportunities, people and experiences along the way.

This is where Les Pilotes makes a difference. The French non-profit supports young people aged 14 to 25 in their educational and professional journeys, helping them gain confidence, discover new environments and build the skills they need to make informed choices about their future.

Since 2021, more than 2,500 young people have taken part in its initiatives, supported by over 3,000 hours of mentoring across the Île-de-France and Hauts-de-France regions. Through mentoring, workshops and interactions with professionals, Les Pilotes helps young people explore paths they may not otherwise encounter, and see more possibilities for themselves.

Supporting Le Bon Créneau, an entrepreneurial challenge for high school students

Turning these possibilities into concrete opportunities is at the heart of Le Bon Créneau. This immersive competition gives high school students the chance to step into the shoes of an entrepreneur and turn an idea into a project.

Over four months, around 30 participants work in teams of three and take part in a seven-day bootcamp, 8 to 12 weeks of mentoring and a final pitch event. Along the way, they learn how to structure an innovative idea, collaborate as a team and develop practical skills in communication, public speaking, digital literacy and project development, while gaining exposure to different careers and professional environments. The winning team receives funding for their driving licences.

The Syensqo Fund is supporting one edition of Le Bon Créneau for young people from Plaine Commune, a group of eight cities in northern Paris, France, that includes Aubervilliers, where Syensqo has a site. Supporting this edition is a way to widen access to guidance, professional networks and new opportunities for young people in a community close to one of our sites.

A first step together in 2025

Our collaboration with Les Pilotes began in 2025, when Syensqo hosted a 100% female workshop at Aubervilliers, France.

Twenty young women met Syensqo employees from Research & Innovation, IT, Human Resources, site management, Sustainability and Communications.

The exchanges gave participants an opportunity to hear about different professional journeys, ask questions and connect with female role models from a range of backgrounds and functions.

Why we support

Access to guidance, mentoring and professional networks can make a lasting difference in a young person’s future.

By supporting Les Pilotes, the Syensqo Fund aims to reduce inequalities, foster equal opportunities and strengthen solidarity with communities around Syensqo’s Aubervilliers site.
