What projects qualify for funding?
The initiatives supported by the Syensqo Fund must:
- be aligned with Syensqo’s philanthropic pillars
- have a significant social impact,
- address societal challenges
- improve the wellbeing of end beneficiaries
- support communities close to Syensqo sites.
Governance
The Fund is administered by the King Baudouin Foundation (KBF), which has a long-standing reputation and extensive experience in managing philanthropic funds responsibly and transparently. It will ensure that donations are used in ways that create the most significant social impact.
The Management Committee
The Management Committee orients the Fund's actions and validates the allocation of donations.
The Committee is composed of unremunerated members from the KBF, Syensqo, and independent third parties:
- Christian Jourquin, Chairman (former CEO of Solvay)
- Ilham Kadri, CEO of Syensqo
- Peter Piot, Director, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
- Stefan Schäfers, Chief Programme Officer of the King Baudouin Foundation

King Baudouin Foundation
Administration of the Syensqo Fund has been entrusted to the King Baudouin Foundation (KBF), renowned for its expertise and integrity in managing philanthropic funds.
